Launch and sustain an Network-wide web education

August 10, 2006 at 12:38 pm | In Uncategorized | 2 Comments

Issue
Network management and staff must remain aware and informed of the possible benefits
its web domains can provide. Continuous education and a willingness to enable open
discussions will foster ideas and new ways of thinking about using the web domains to
improve business and communication processes.

Risk if not adopted
A failure to support education and transparency in sharing ideas will retard the  networks ability to use information to create competitive advantage. The organization will become increasingly ineffective, inflexible and inefficient as it fails to recognize and reward the skills required to accomplish quality web work.
Methods to accomplish the strategy

  1. The need for a Web Quality Evangelist (EPA)
    • Champion
    •

    • Facilitator
    • Trainer
  2. The story of evolving the community (EPA)
    • Web Workgroup (voluntary)
    • Web Challenges White Paper (voluntary)
    • Content Advisory Board (more formalized)
  3. USDA / ERS Web Brown Bag Seminar Series & Web Library
